Shadow Slides Over The Estuary,

A
shadow slides over the estuary,
a hard wind disturbing its waters;
unsettles resident waders.
Storm
clouds gather round idle gantries,
A golden light edges the rooftiles
on the hillslopes across the river.
Our
train rattles round the bay, slicing the
hushed air as day waits for the squall to break.
Beneath
the river's surface sabella beds
sway spaghetti tubes; a forest haven
for sponges, shrimps and nursery fry.
Under
the far shore gantries,
pens scratch paper,
signatures sealing their fate.
A

am a poet and a journalist, working freelance from home.
I have a regular column in Disabled and Supportive Carer
magazine, which I have written for the past ten years.
My poems have been published in various magazines including
Bare Bones, DAIL, DAM, Dance Matters, Language and Ecology
online, and anthologies including Speaking Our Minds,
Under The Asylum Tree, Mustn't Grumble, pub Women's Press,
Bigger Than The Sky, pub Women's Press, The Bees Sneeze,
pub Stride, as well as two print collections; "You're
Really Cutting Me Up?", published CATHAP in 2003
and Snow Ewes Crowing Over Spilt Snails, Pocket Books,
1998. I have also published several collections and single
poems on video such as Shifting Shadows, 2003, awarded
a prize in Kynniskino video festival, Helsinki,Through
The Pane, 1995, (awarded a prize in Noi Gli Altri, Video
Festival Turin, Flood, exhibited in various art galleries,
in Staffordshire, Hampshire and Essex, UK as well as
at GAGA festival, Berlin, screened in video festivals
internationally and broadcast on Meridian TV, UK (terrestrial)
I was commissioned in 2000 by Suffolk County Council to create an
artists' CD ROM and many of my interactive, animated poems are
published in that work. I also have poems online at my website;
http://www.wordsart.co.uk , including an interactive poetry/
art piece commissioned by National Disability Arts Forum, UK,
called Transmutations, and several sound poems, so me of which
have gained airspace in radio broadcasts and podcasts such as
GI Podcast (USA hip hop station), Artwave Radio ( greek art radio).
I have performed my poems on BBC Radio 3, on BBC TV South, in
berlin, Turin and around UK, including Apples And Snakes in London,
England.
