you have a novel coming out? the business side of writing

If you're working on a novel or you're already a published novelist, it's great to have a following of readers for your work. Oh, it's him! Or, oh, it's her--What a remarkable talent! I gotta read that book!

A Terrific Business Plan : So, write your best stories, your greatest poetry, get them published in another magazine--the best ones out there: Ploughshares, Glimmer Train, The New Yorker--then publish them here at SHALLA Magazine (and receive even more readers, let your work achieve immortality on paper, open to the possibility of being 'discovered' by lit agents and publishers, win the Pulitzer for Fiction, the Nobel Prize for Literature). And even while you are joining the ranks of the literary greats, Steinbeck, Shakespeare, Toni Morrison--publish your poetry/short story in an anthology, a collection, whatever you like, go ahead, you've always kept the rights to your work but have now shared them to the world.

SHALLA Magazine likes to discover talents and make them shine!

If your piece is chosen, we may publish your biography on our blogs, such as: http://shalladeguzman.blogspot.com and/or ask you to be interviewed at the ShallaDeGuzman Writers Group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ShalladeGuzman and/or SHALLA CHATS: http://shalladeguzman.com/shallachats.php

Here's your chance to be nominated for the Pushcart Prize

SHALLA Magazine may make six nominations from our year’s publication for the Pushcart Prize. Our nomination may be any combination of poetry, short fiction, essays or self-contained portions of books — for instance, a chapter from a novel.

Submit your work as an mp3 file.

You can record your short story or poem or essay, etc as an audio file (mono, 128Kpbs) and send it to us with your submission. If your printed work is accepted for publication, SHALLA Magazine may podcast your reading of your work.

More on Recording Submissions

Update: At this moment, to maintain a certain level of quality in its recording, we have readers who may read your work.

*note

If you have not heard from us 8 months after the reading period, please assume your submission has been lost somehow and was never received by SHALLA Magazine, and please, re-submit your work.
