Misty Day's
TOP
PICKS

1.
O by Peter Schwartz
Good.
Deep, personal, moving, and well written. Many readers would understand
his dilemma. I wonder about the title,
though. It might flow a bit better if it started this way:
I did not wish to be
this cardboard frankenstein
2. Key
Lime Pie by Kenneth Pobo
Good.
Nice line breaks, topical, emotional, good visuals.
3. Fear
in Black and White by Branch Isole
Good,
topical, well written, controversial.
4. The
Tower by Cyber Savant
Interesting.
5. From
the smallest embers rise the beasts of fire like the Phoenix by Nikesh Murali
This
is good, though short. It could use a verse
or two more.
Perhaps this would be a bit smoother:
From smallest embers rise beasts of fire like the Phoenix
Hot ashes from flapping wings fall on snow-white clouds
Plunging earth deep into darkness
From smallest embers I draw fire to trace your form on the forest floor
Now walls of flame race through a landscape of twigs and thorns
In the roar of this great fire, I hear the laugh of that single ember
Dear poets -- I chose your work because it is the best
in the selection given to me to read. My suggestions come from the heart,
not just the head - and they're influenced by 40 years of poetry enjoyment.
But
they're still just my own opinions - your self-opinion matters most.
I look forward to your response to a few of my shorter pieces.
Love, Light, Peace and Abundance,
Misty Day
Now
it's your turn--
